Eco Architetture

Through their use of environmentally-friendly materials, passive design techniques, and efficient facades the masterminds behind this project were able to reduce the community’s energy consumption by 30%. Starting with the rehabilitation of existing structures and re-purposing of used materials, the development will go through three phases of construction and ultimately stand 10 buildings strong. ECO CITY will use wind energy to generate 10% of the complex’s power (more than any other high-rise in the world), as well as solar water heating systems and solar-powered lighting technology. Most of the visible roofs will be covered in greenery to slow storm water runoff and significantly reduce the heat island effect of the development itself.

In addition to the project’s environmental advances, ECO CITY was created in keeping with the designer’s progressive philosophy, which imbues every project with a socially and economically sustainable elements. The integration of these three ideas is vital to the impact these structures will have on the community inhabits them.

Tec Principal Sebastian Knorr explains: “ECO CITY represents a synergistic approach to urban development. By working in close cooperation with all the stakeholders and taking into consideration the immediate environmental context of the project, we’ve created a different type of sustainable, creative-industrial complex. We hope that iconic ECO CITY project becomes a model for sustainable urban development.”

Hamburg-Harburg Harbor has a long-standing history of German entrepreneurship and ingenuity, and the community foresees ECO CITY to be a major contributor in its efforts towards revitalization.

Cavoli... ne ho da leggere. ^_^
Come sempre grazie.

Eco-techno-park
Russia

Recently the Town Planning Department of Cheboksary city passed the reconstruction project of territory of research and production complex “Elara”, designed by A.A. Asadov's architectural studio. In Cheboksary city there will be built a modern technopolis which will gather science laboratories and processing departments with as “green” architectural solution as possible.
“Elara” factory manufactures electronic equipment for civil aviation and military air forces, railroad communications, vehicles and banks. Today there are a few low-rise production units are involved in manufacturing, and a high-rise administrative building. The client — “VolgaDevelopment” company started the full reconstruction of the old buildings and construction of new ones – retail and business centre because the soviet architecture of the factory’s building was not appropriate to the high-technology works and because of the large undeveloped area.
A.A. Asadov’s studio offered the plan of “3 layers” for the master plan of the territory. They are – old and new buildings, and a “web” of planted roofs of present production units, newly built terraces and passages joining about 10 buildings of the techno-park into a single complex. So, the square site of the plant is fully built up, used with maximum efficiency, and the web of passages and green terraces are placed along the perimeter. Idea to combine a technopolis and eco-architecture in “Elara” complex was first suggested by the clients. It comes from the German techno-parks inside of which there are real jungles. Projects by the architects of "Behnisch & Behnisch" make the most remarkable example.
Considering practice of German colleagues, A.A. Asadov’s studio tried to lay the basis of ecological architecture into the general master plan with the hope of further development, in separate buildings of the complex. During reconstruction of present production units there will appear planted terraces with hanging gardens on different levels. The huge area of roof of the main production unit seen from windows of other constructions will be most planted. It will be turned into a garden with green-houses cultivating everything from tomatoes to exotic plants.
Green-houses on the roof introduce one of the principles of eco-architecture - beneficial use of heat generated by manufacture operations, the building will be heated by plants. The other principles are also put in the plan of the future complex - natural ventilation, double facades, use of sun and wind powered, use of direct and reflected sunlight, minimal amount of waste.
Today project of business centre is most fully designed, decorated with bright green ribbons which have become one of the recognizable features of A.A. Asadov’s studio. Building of Olympic reserve school in Mytischy is lined with alike stripes, project of which has been designed this year in spring. In Cheboksary green stripes mark ecological basis of the new complex. Not just inside it is “green” but outside as well.

Vertical Park / Jorge Hernandez de la Garza
Messico

Architects: Jorge Hernandez de la Garza
Location: Coyoacan, Mexico
Design Team: Rodrigo Ambriz, Michael Smith, Erik Cosio
Project Year: 2009
Images: Jorge Hernandez de la Garza

Mexico City is a metropolis where zones are meshed as commerce and life often converge to create dynamic spaces of interaction and interconnectivity. Unfortunately, these zones are being pushed to the periphery as modern development increases delineation to create islands of program disconnected from the pulse of the city. With all its potential for profit, this march of capitalism poses a threat on the cultural and sustainable potential of the city; as zones separate, so do our lives as significant time and energy is spent in transit. Meanwhile, green space is increasingly devoured by steel and concrete.
In response with these demands, we have designed a module, highly structural and flexible in order to provide horizontal and vertical stacking along with diverse insertions to create a mesh not unlike that seen in the periphery. Located in Coyoacan, Mexico City, the project is to revive the calcification of modernity. The module affords not only spaces for living and working but for urban farming, water reclamation, and solar energy collection. As the modules rise vertically to create a high-rise structure, they also spread horizontally in order to create canopies for street level commerce. To provide a more sustainable response to the potential demands of the city, these modules can be rearranged, relocated, and remodeled throughout Mexico City and potentially throughout the world.
Although some may argue that such massive replication would destroy the aims of the project by increasing visual and spatial homogeneity, the flexibility of the project allows the structure of the model to be configured with such diversity that new programs, skins and layouts can be applied in order to adapt to the given region.

HOUSING
Parigi

PROGRAM   Housing
LOCATION   Paris - ZAC Cardinet
DATE           2008
CLIENT           Nexity
BUDGET           12 000 000 €
PR. SIZE           7358 m
STEP           Competition - Lost

http://www.lan-paris.com

This is a residential building project in which energy production forms an intrinsic part of the architectural vocabulary.

The fundamental idea underlying the design is to simultaneously ensure:
1- the building meets the needs of urban integration and creates a harmonious relationship between block 2.1.1.B and the future adjoining constructions,
2- the design of a pioneering complex based on a sustainable development approach adapted to the scale of the development sector,
3- the creation of housing that, because of its diversity, qualities and finishes, will guarantee Nexity a good return on investment,
4- the creation of a symbol whose importance will make itself felt on the scale of Paris as well as on that of the Cardinet-Chalabre urban redevelopment area.

An analysis of the client’s needs, the specificity of the block which presents exceptional qualities resulting from its location next to a park and its south and west orientations, as well as the direct views over Paris, led us to develop a compact and vertical morphology.

The compactness of the building, resulting from urban choices, provided an opportunity to attain very high thermal performances. The envelope acts as a thermos flask, with very few interruptions to the continuity of the insulation. The simplicity of the volume plays against the rich and meticulous treatment of the elevations.
The elevations are constructed from two superimposed layers. The first, defined by a metal structure, produces energy using solar panels, acts as a balustrade and plays the role of a sun breaker that regulates solar gain throughout the year.
The second elevation uses different coloured renders. The openings comply with a logic that is more linked to the layouts of the apartments than to the regularly spaced openings in the solar cell cladding.
While the interaction between the two skins results from a thermal strategy, the elevations also produce interesting lighting effects, alternating solids and voids, changing depths of field and providing the optical effects that give this architecture its highly specific identity.

Sistema «casa qualita`».
Disposizioni concernenti la valutazione e la certificazione
della qualita` dell’edilizia residenziale

In valutazione al Senato
